2.It utilizes Christian religion to symbolize good and evil and heaven and hell. The poet used various characters and references to the Old Testament.

3. While usually considered an epic poem, Beowulf has also been labeled an elegy, perhaps for Beowulf himself or perhaps for the heroism of the past (and obviously admired by the Christian poet) pagan era.

2. Faith is integrated into this piece of writing through allusions to Cain and the Flood, and showing the Christian God's influence upon the pagan world of the Danes.

4. The book was one of the only remaining books left in Sir Robert Cotton's library after a fire consumed it, and was badly charred.
